The Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve (GPHG) announced on Saturday night, November 19th 2011, during their annual awards ceremony that Boucheron, one of the world's most famous watch and jewelry Houses, received the Prix de la Montre Dame (Women's Watch Award) for its?
Crazy Jungle Hathi watch.
The Crazy Jungle Hathi joined Boucheron's Cabinet of Curiosities in 2011 and is testament to the House's skills in High Watchmaking matched with their talent in High Jewelry creation. Masterfully sculpted in white gold, the dial displays a playful elephant whose volume and movement is showcased with the use of delicate aventurine glass and more than 300 diamonds, sapphires, tsavorites and amethysts.
True craftsmanship was used in the pave of the elephant's blanket revealing color in movement as well as the jeweler's mythical touch. This movement brings life to the watch while the pacaderm steps out of the dial on to the case beautifully set with diamonds, sapphires and tsavorites.?
The watch also features a Girard-Perregaux GP4000 movement as well as Girard-Perregaux's "Crazy Seconds" module, specially designed to animate the dials of Boucheron's Crazy Jungle watches with a three dimensional multi-colored kaleidoscope. ?
The Prix de la Montre Dame was one of eleven categories awarded at this year's gala. The Crazy Jungle Hathi watch was chosen out of three nominated watches in its category, including Louis Vuitton's Tambour Spin Time and Piaget's Limelight Dancing Light.?
