WORLDTEMPUS - 29 June 2011
The glamorous backdrop for Jaeger-LeCoultre's justified trip down memory lane was provided by Paris's aesthetically imposing Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts. The 178-year-old brand - whose modern claim to wide fame is doubtlessly the birthday girl - paid fitting tribute to this evergreen timepiece.
CEO Jerôme Lambert excitedly greeted the 800 guests in attendance, including brand ambassador Diane Kruger, directing them to the larger-than-life Reverso model proudly touting the numbers "1931" and "2011." All the guests were asked to leave their signatures on it before wandering the beautifully decorated historical space to peruse eighty years of Reverso advertising as well as an exquisite exhibition of eighty Reverso models, many with unique engraving and decorations on their swiveling case backs. Some of the brand's master watchmakers, engravers, and enamellers were also in attendance to demonstrate their skills to the clients, VIPS, and journalists present.
